Per Espn - Phillies have a deal in place for Roy Oswalt as long as he waives his no trade clause

It's GM RAJ's out: he f'd up the Lee situation and now he'll be able to blame Roy if he continues to insist on Phils ponying up the $$ option for him to waive his no trade.

7 wins in a row for the Phillies!! :) Dom Brown had a nice debut :) Now this is the Phillies team that I've come to know and love :) Oswalt could be on the way....Doc, Hamels & Oswalt....nice :)

I also hear that they have some interest in Bautista from Toronto. If they get him, he'd play 3rd & Polly would move to 2nd. When Utley comes off the DL, Bautista would be a nice bat off the bench.

I'd still like to see the Phillies make a move for the Pen, however with their bats starting to heat up (Raul and Werth have picked it up as of late), Utley coming back in about 2 weeks, the addition of a young stud player in Brown, adding Oswalt to the starting rotation and possibly adding Bautista it would appear that the Phillies are headed for another October run :)

Go Phillies!! :)

Our old buddy Ed Wade got shook down big time.

How RAJ got that $11M is beyond me.

Shawn Chacon really worsened his idiot condition. Ed would over pay for the Walt Whitman bridge if it was draped with a Phils jsy

Seriously, Happ will be a nice, young, cheap pitcher for 'stros for next coupla of years.

Happ really isn't that young.

I believe he'll be 28 before next season.

Anyone <43, esp. in their 20s, is very young to me

Like the ladies, pro athletes are pretty much considered over the hill after 25.

Contractually, Happ age/time of service and commensurate compensation is very attractive to the bottom line of teams.

Interesting tidbit I read - Mets are 6-0 at home this year while wearing a black hat.

Looks like the Mets are going to stay as is during this trading period

Howard out with sprained ankle

GM RAJ is really going to have to work hard and see what kind of pickings will be available from the waiver wire. Otherwise, Phils will have to wait for call ups of Scott Mathieson and the like.

I was out of town for the weekend and still can't figure out how Ed Wade can PAY the wealthy Yanks in order to unload former Houston icon Berkman; replace failed experiement (in the Bronx) Chan Ho with Woods; & add Austin Kearns w/o raiding their minors.

GM RAJ really stood Pat here.

Sorry to the Mets fans on JC, however I love the way that the Phillies are playing :) They have not used the injuries to key playes as an excuse and other players have come in and have stepped up big time in their places. With Utley, Howard & Victorino due back by late August (if not sooner) & the fact that they now have a big 3 in the starting rotation in Doc, Hamels (who has pitched great this season & what a turn-around from a year ago) and Oswalt and the fact that the month that the Phillies have owned in recent years is coming up (September)....us Phillies fans could be in for another "Red October" :)

This season has been full of ups and downs to this point for the Phillies, however I feel that this could be one of their most rewarding seasons also should it end in a long post-season run in October. Playing the way that they have and staying in the race both by the way that that have overcome the injuries and also by ownership going out and bringing in a stud pitcher in Oswalt. This also says a good amount for the job that Manuel has done as Manager as they play for him and respect him. A lot has changed with the Phillies from not that long ago to being the francise that they are today. I, along with all of my fellow Phillies fans, have seen a lot of losses over the years and were through some tough times. It's nice to be one of the "haves" and not the "have nots" of the league as I do remember the days of the "have nots" and seeing "Dutch" Daulton go into the Phillies Wall of Fame last night reminded me of both the great season of 1993 and the tough seasons that followed. I don't know how long this great era of Phillies baseball is going to last (though I do hope for a long time ;) ), however I know that I'm going to enjoy every game of it :)

Go Phillies!! :)

Aw that was nice of Kyle to bring his daughter.

I was there for Andy Musser for my 1980 World Series mega ticket, the guy still has the voice, but I admit he is not looking good.
